ADVENT IN THE IMST HOLIDAY REGION
AN ENCOUNTER BETWEEN CUSTOMS AND ART.
Christmas time:
People get together when the first snow falls gently on the countryside and houses, to bake, do arts and crafts, sing or make music together. Or just to stop and enjoy the most peaceful time of the year. Many contemplative moments characterize the Advent season in Imst holiday region.
Manger path
The manger path provides the opportunity to take an idyllic tour through the snowy “Oberstadt” section of Imst. Manger builders display their best works of art in selected places and squares in this rural part of the town. The intricate mangers are on exhibit behind window panes, at the entrances to stables and in a corner of a house. Whether Oriental or Alpine, the high level of workmanship of each style can be seen.
Advent in the parish church of Imst
Every Wednesday and Saturday in Advent, the parish church of Imst is welcoming you to celebrate the season with a brass ensemble, a narrator and choir music. This is the time for reflection, peace and contemplation.
The events take place on Nov 26, 30, Dec 3, 7, 10, 14, 17 and and 23 from 5pm to 6pm and are free of charge.
